Sober Self is a mobile app for anyone quitting alcohol, cigarettes, vaping, or drugs. You set a goal, count the days you stay sober, and keep your reasons in front of you when the urge hits.
The problem
Quitting an addiction is hardest on the ordinary days after you start, when motivation fades and nobody is watching. You track your progress in your head or on a scrap of paper, and you lose the thread the moment life gets busy. You need to see how far you have come, a private place to work through a bad day, and a reminder that reaches you before a craving wins. Sober Self gives you all three in one place.
What we built
- A sober-day counter that tracks each streak and marks the milestones you reach
- Goal setting for the habit you want to break, whether that is drinking, smoking, vaping, or drugs
- Daily reminders that keep your commitment in view
- A private diary where you write through cravings and record what works
- A library of inspirational videos for the days you need a push
- Chat support so you are not doing this alone
How we worked
You saw a working build every week and used it on your own phone. Your feedback went straight to the engineers who wrote the code, with no account manager in the middle relaying messages. The team that built Sober Self maintains it, so the people who know the code are the people who answer when something needs to change.
The outcome
Sober Self shipped to the Google Play Store under the Lifestyle category. You can download it, set a goal, and start counting sober days today. We continue to maintain the app and ship updates.
